A boat is a watercraft of a wider range of sizes constructed to plane, float, travel or work on water. Small boats are normally seen on inland waterways (e.g., lakes and rivers) or in confined coastal areas. Though, boats such as the whaleboat were constructed for action from a ship in an offshore setting. In naval language, a boat is a ferry small sufficient to be contained aboard another ship. Another less limiting meaning is a boat that can be carried out of the water. Some meaning do not make a clarification in size, as mass freighters 1,000 feet (300 m) long on the Great Lakes are referred oreboats. For reasons of submarines or naval tradition, are usually regarded to as ‘boats’ rather than ‘ships’, not considering of their shape and size. Boats are usually differentiated from ships based on their shape, larger size, passenger capacity or cargo.

Boats have a broad diversity of sizes, shapes and construction methods due to their anticipated function, local tradition and available materials. Canoe-form of boats has been in existence since early times and a range of versions are used throughout the world for fishing, sport, and transportation. Fishing boats vary broadly in style fairly to match local circumstances. Pleasure boats include sail boat, pontoon and ski boats. House boats can be used for long term housing or vacationing. Small boats can convey cargo or offer transport (lightering) to and from large ships. Lifeboats have safety and rescue functions. Boats can be function by wind power (e.g., sailboats), motor power (e.g., propeller-driven motorboats driven by gasoline or diesel engines) and human power (e.g., rowboats).

We all aware of what boat really is, they are small concave structures that float on the water surface. This may be a paper boat or wooden boat in real life; the ships are always the same and serve the same purpose. They assist people by means of transport animals and many other things through the water labyrinth of rivers and oceans and low current. We all made paper boats when we were kids and we saw it floating on the water park.

Finally, ships have evolved and ships and boats are design has changed dramatically. We now have a variety of ships, each suitable for a particular purpose. We race yachts, sailboats, cruise ships, ships at sea, river ships, upstream and many others. This article will end only with the names of different types of boats that are available today and is used to date. Well, we are here to talk about boats and ship design that we use. So let me briefly mention some of these ships and boats design. We have the small sized and the big sized ship.
